Why do jobs in Finance pay so much?

Everyone I know who works in that field makes over 100K and they're in their mid twenties.

The jobs tend to be very demanding, and because the companies make a lot of money, they can pay a lot of money.
Most financial companies can also afford the best, so they're very selective.

When you have someone else working with your money, it is important to pay them enough to not swindle, cheat, or ruin you. At least that's my theory.
