A Finance/Business Career? |
I am looking to find a career in the finance/business industry, more specifically I am quite interested in becoming a Financial Analyst. What do I need to do to have the best "shot" at getting a job after college? Ideally i would like to get by bachelors in finance/economics, and a masters in finance/economics/or MBA, i also would like to do some interning during summer breaks. Would you say I'm on the right track? If not, what do you recommend for me to have the best start. Yes, it sounds like you are on the right track. The best thing you could do for your career would be to line up some internships. There are plenty of MBA's with nice GPAs graduating every year, but so few of them can provide a work reference. You'll have a definite advantage over fellow students if you put an emphasis on the on-the-job experience while in school. Source(s): Many years in the staffing business. visit http://net-new.blogspot.com and search If you want to be a financial analyst, you should get certified. Check out cfainstitute.org about getting registered and taking the exams. Good luck to you in your future career in finance. You are on the right track. Having an MBA will also help. Getting work experience is good, so internships are also helpful. Look for a large Mutual Fund Company (Such as Franklin Templeton) to get an internship or start right out of college. They are great training grounds in the industry. It also depends in which area you want to live in. IT's not easy to become an analyst and make all this money from the start. Brokerage firms are good starting points too. Good luck! |
