Career Shift into finance?

I am a graduate of Electrical engineering. i wish to pursue a careeer in finance. As i donot have the sufficient background to start off with a job. What should be the field of further study i must be doing so as to secure a favourable position in the job market(inance). Which location is more preferable is it US or Australia or UK or any other place?
