In an interview, what's the best way to say you were fired at your last job? |
My friend was fired today but doesn't know exactly why. "It's just not working out" was the reason they gave. It was a high-level finance job that requires a degree. What should he say in upcoming interviews? (He's pursuing legal action, but that's another story.) Just be straight with it. Generally a prospective employer will be looking for what you can add to the position you are applying for, not what you were fired for in the past. Unless of course you were fired for doing something illegal, however, you would know that, as charges are usually laid at the same time you find out you're fired. Employers generally appreciate the fact that you are upfront about it. Generally most of the time people are fired for attendance issues or just because they were not up to the job in the first instance. I would just be straight up about the issue. It goes a long way with the interviewer. U never say u where fired always try to make it better like we didn't agree with the boss alot or any of thoose reasons but never say fired be honest termination? |
