Answering the KSA's are of the utmost importance. Closely follow their section on "10 tips for letting employers know your worth". Click on the "FAQS" tab at the top of their home page. Scroll down to "Benefits and Compensation", then click on the link, "How can I let Federal Employers know my worth." THIS IS THE SECRET TO LANDING AN INTERVIEW, OR EVEN BEING OUTRIGHT OFFERED THE JOB! If you are applying for a job as a computer programmer, resist the temptation to include ANYTHING in your KSA's which is NOT related to that job. Nobody cares if you worked at Taco Bell, unless you maintained their computer system! Try to use the OF-612, instead of a resume. Don't be afraid to include an additional page or two which addresses EACH KSA. Watch out for TYPOS! ONE TYPO WILL LAND YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE INSTANTLY IN THE ROUND FILE! Try to develop at least TWO or THREE entries for each KSA! DEVELOP YOUR KSA's by following the 10 tips the usajobs website lists... If you need help, there are very experienced, professional, retired fed HR people whom you can find on the internet, and they will write the KSA's for you, for a price. Only YOU can decide if paying someone will be worthwhile. It takes a VERY LONG TIME to properly write and assemble ANY app for a gov job. It's totally different from sending a resume to some company out there. It's totally different from filling out the general, generic app you will get at most businesses.
