Is the California citrus freeze really bad for Americans, aren't those jobs filled with illegals? |

Do we really need to give more free money to illegals? Very good point. Maybe the 20,000 pickers out there can travel south, good bye and good riddance. The upside is that the Florida growers will make a ton of money this year. If they're illegals they won't get anything since they're not on a payroll that is taxed. He wants them to have free health care why not some free unemplyment they get anything they want you should be a chess player! i wish i was able to analyze cause and effect as well as you.maybe the citrus freeze really is a good thing after all! if it causes one illegal to go back home discouraged it will be worth it.in 5 years time a pair of breeding illegals can produce as many as 7 offspring. the reproduction from there on is exponential. Clearly, they are jobs that Americans don't do, so we don't need to be worried about it. I do worry about this idea that unemployment isn't enough so they should pass a special law letting them get unemployment and still work, however, if that is going to subsidize illegals to stay here. Arnold isn't too fussy about where our money goes, and we have to make it LESS attractive to be here, not more. - ratracer, we are being facetious because we frankly don't believe only illegal immigrants will do that work, and if it were true, think something must be wrong with the pay structure to make it so. I for one don't want to be dependent on foreign food, but would much rather give the money to farmers in subsidies outright than have illegals here bringing family and driving down our school quality. It would take a pretty damned expensive orange to make illegal immigration's benefits outweigh what their presence is doing to my children's schools. Sadly if it only effected the illegals you might have a remote chance of selling your theory. The economics run so much deeper than the simple fruit picker no matter if legal or not. No lets take a look at who else it hurts. 1 the farmer 2 the truck drivers 3 the dock workers 4 the storage house 5 the cannery 6 the grocer 7 the consumer all of the above and more are dependent upon the crops for their lively hood . a mass slow down of any process ultimately will cause harm to a lot of people. from lost jobs to higher prices Just take the cannery for instance. less produce equals less work ,job lay offs means more folks on welfare. less consumer goods means higher prices . it does not stop there it also effects truck drivers ,fuel for trucks. container manufactures, and the list can go on and on. from the petroleum producers =plastic paper cartons =saw mills, metal lids = mines The next time before you get so pissed off at the lowly immigrant worker get off your lazy *** and go take one of those jobs .Hell I would lay off a immigrant over a American any day . If one would apply and work as hard as any immigrant I have working for me. so what trailer park do you live in dumb nut |
