How do you feel about the following? On May First, local, county, state and federal law enforcement?

officers, along with the INS, do a sweep of the protesters, ID the illegals, deport them with no chance of re-entry into the USA for 10 years. Make being here illegally a federal felony. Fines and prison time for the people who employ illegals. Then you go over the welfare rolls and you put the able-bodied people who are on welfare into the jobs the illegals were working. If they are not being paid enough to live on, then continue some of the welfare. I have nothing against LEGAL IMMIGRANTS or people who LEGITAMELY NEED WELFARE. I would appreciate serious, literate answers only.

I think it's a great idea. If they asked me for ID I would have it ready in my hand. If the protesters had nothing to hide, so would they.

I agree 100% wholeheartedly. Excellent Idea, have the illegals protest and then arrest them for protesting. I mean if murders protested their rights publicly we would arrest them right. These people are here illegally. It is not about race, it is about citizenship and whether or not you have it.

Unrealistic as the ACLU will whine and moan and sue the government for YEARS to get them back in the country. But I absolutely LOVE the idea and hope that the INS will do at least SOME clean up.
to answer that logically, NO we wouldn't arrest murderers for protesting. if we did it would be for MURDER not for protesting. and i don't think people that are protesting are for illegal immigration, they are for immigrant's rights. if the books not bombs protest of 2001 resulted in people being ID and screened for criminal records there would be an uproar of violation of civil rights and the right to assemble. since i'm citizen, should i choose to participate, and a law enforcement official asks for my ID i will give that official hell. that is a terribly invasive idea, there are going to be citizens there as well, even a few white people and puerto ricans too. how are you going to know who to ID? just pick out the brownest ones?
I partially agree, but you need to also consider that the jobs they are employed at are sub standard in wage and safety. Also if the American companies that took jobs away from the US to have people in other countries(like Mexico) a decent wage to live on there they would not all come here. I do agree that illegal is illegal and they should be deported until here through proper channels.
