I have a job interview on May 1, 2007 at a federal prison as a correctional officer and I am very nervous?

I do not do well with interview
and this one is a big one for me I really want this job

Does anyone out there have any positive tips for me?

What prison?

Why are you nervous, just be positive about the position your are applying for. The reason I ask what prison is, I work at Ft Dix and know almost everyone that works there,

email me jrc5@lycos.com if you have any questions

good luck, there a tough bunch over there
Well... try to be honest, don't be rude and you will probably have a big chance
No matter how much you want to look away maintain eye contact. Don't fold your arms at any time. Sit up straight, and smile. Listen to questions very carefully before offering an answer. If you do not understand something make sure you ask them to explain. It will show your interest in doing a good job and your willingness to be trained. Good luck.
1) Make sure you are well rested before the interview.
That means don`t drink too much alcohol, don`t eat to heavy, and get to bed early

2) Be confident. If you can do the job, KNOW that you can. You already have the interview planned, so you got selected. You have something others do not.

3) Be honest. If you are very nervous, and you feel the interview is going badly - tell them. I had one interview where this happened, and i did tell them. I got hired even though the interview wasn`t the best.

4) During the interview, try to find some common ground with the interviewer, and ask him to share about the job, the work.
Look the interviewer in the eye and refrain from using 'uh' and 'um'.
Be prepared to answer questions! The best way to prepare is to ask yourself: what are your best qualities, education, awards and what makes you great for this job? Go over these questions in your mind up until the day of interview. If they ask you a question pause and think about how you would want another person to answer it , also be honest. Dress nice and be conservative. Take deep breaths and listen to some up beat music on the way to interview! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
I did it once!!!!
