I work in Health Policy and am lobbyist on Capitol Hill. I want a similar job and would love to still lobby the Federal government but I want to live near family in Florida specifically Orlando or Jacksonville
Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of lobbyist jobs anywhere outside of capital cities. If you want to be in Florida as a lobbyist, you're pretty much stuck in Tallahassee. Of course, any industry group has a lobbyist, and some of them may be headquartered at the org. headquarters. So, find businesses and organizations (and in your case hospitals) that are headquartered in the Orlando and Jacksonville area and send them your resume. You're probably in for a salary cut, and you'll have trouble finding exactly what you want, but there are a few spots if you're lucky. |
