I got my first job, how much will they take out for state and federal taxes?

Also the job is union, how much will they take out for that?

Depends on the state. Go to www.irs.gov and look at Circular E to get your federal withholding tax tables. The combined FICA taxes are 7.65% from gross earnings. State taxes come from your state's website. Union dues - talk to your union rep.
As a rule of thumb,if you work five days and 40 hrs per week, the fifth day is the day you work for Uncle Sam.
Are you still a student? Are you saving for university? If so, then you probably won't pay any taxes. If you're not a student then 1/4 of the gross for everything would be a good rule of thumb. I've never seen union dues any higher than $50/mth.
