How does the federal work study program work. Is it worth it or is it better to get a job outside of campus? |
How does the federal work study program work. Is it worth it or is it better to get a job outside of campus? Ive done the workstudy thing, it worked well for me. Because the job will schdule between your classes, like if you have an hour before your next class you can go straight to work. Also they dont take any taxes out of your paycheck which is also nice. Usually the jobs they have on campus will be pretty easy so I highly recommend trying it. If you dont like it you could always quit and find a better job off campus. The best of luck to you! They find you a job that works around your classes and you can do your studying instead of working. Sounds like it's a good deal to me. It is a federal funded program. You work about 20 hours a week and make whatever the minimum wage is . You get paid every two weeks. You are usually going to be doing something like helping a teacher, or working in the library or something simple like that. yes, definetly get a work study job at the school, the jobs are very easy, most of the time you will meet new people that could help your future anyway. |
