Have Americans become so lazy?

Why are Americans fighting for crappy jobs when they have financial aid, scholarships, and all kinds of government programs to help them go to college and get good paying jobs? Why do Americans blame illegal immigrants for wages being so low? How would stopping illegal immigration raise U.S. citizen's wages when the government doesn't do anything about the federal minimum wage? Have Americans become so lazy that they don't want to compete for jobs anymore? Why don't unemployed Americans instead of waiting in the unemployment line, go stand outside the Home Depot and see if that way they can get a job?

The truth that is that Americans, with no skills, little work history, or poor work references, still believe they deserve more than the low-skilled "crappy job" they are only qualified for.

There is really little, if any excuse, for any red-blooded US citizen to NOT have an post-high school education with so many opportunities out there, as you mentioned: financial aid, scholarships, and all kinds of government programs

The difference between us and "them" -- the illegals -- is, even if they are people with careers in their own country who come here and take up low-skilled labor, they still have a better attitude, work ethic, and are more dependable than the US citizen worker who either has no skills/no education, or is stuck doing a job s/he feels is beneath him or her.

I think america should do away with welfare and general relief and replace them with a mandatory work placement........that would hit two birds with one stone
