Capital gains question- if I am moving for a different federal service job, and for a air national guard job?

do I still pay capital gains? I would have the job right before or after closing and the federal service job would be through navy as civilian not as a military member- though I would be in the air national guard so military part time.

Not true lillian, there is still a time commitment for capital gains. Consult with an accountant or CPA or at least a good real estate agent familiar with the laws of your state.

I am pretty sure (though I could be wrong) service does not impact it.

Unless your capital gains(pure profit) is over $250000 per person (if you are married it is 500,000) then you don't have anything worry about. Not many of us regular folk fall into that category.
