Can deferred student loans be a reason to be terminated from a federal job? The question is about deferred student loans. They are just that. Deferred. You will NOT be terminated from federal or state employment because your student loans are in deferment or forbearance. They shouldn't be. i certainly hope so If the student loans are truly deferred instead of ignored, then no that is not a reason to terminate an employee from a federal job. If you could prove such a situation, that would be grounds for a grievance and possibly some sort of action on the part of a panel that heard the case. depends . . .check with your human resources dept . . my sister was fired as a finacial manager when she defaulted on a loan |
