Federal Prison Job?

I'm appling for a relegious service assitant job and it requires at least 1yr experience at GS 7 or the next lowest level of GS6. I was a Chaplain Assistant in the Air Force but my rank was only E-5, do I qualify for the requirement. I spent 12yrs total in the military but only 2yrs as a Chaplain Assistant but I did complete 7 level school.
