Philosophy Degree? |
What are some federal jobs and maybe other jobs I can do with a philosophy degree? I respectfully disagree with the previous poster who wrote that, for federal jobs, a requirement is the degree itself and not what it's in. It would be more accurate to state that the courses you completed can be more important than your major. Every position has qualification requirements established by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and typically includes a combination of general/specialized experience and/or education. As part of the education requirement, indeed the level of the degree will have a bearing on the grade level for which you qualify. Maybe you could join a think tank and figure out why people in modern democratic nations consistently continue to elect so many jerks, nitwits and corporate whores. Ok so for Fed jobs, the requirements are the degree itself, not really what it's in. Most agencies have a standard for hiring some one with a BS/BA at a GS7, a MS/MA usually gets you a GS 9 at least and a doctorate usually guarantees you a GS 11. |
