Federal grants?

I plan to start college soon (this spring) at Full Sail, and I was interested in getting any info on different types of grants and how to apply for them.
I've looked at some websites, but they aren't giving me all the info I need- especially how to apply.

I know there are different types so, if this helps (for what I qualify for) any...
I'm Caucasian so, I don't apply for a minority grant.
I am technically disabled (amputation), but I don't need any special accomodations.
I am not employed at the moment (am looking for a job), but will not be able to work while in school becuse I'll be going full time (35-40 hours a week).
I have my GED (which also means I don't qualify for any scholarships).
I'll be majoring in Digital Art and Design.

Really? I have never found a scholarship I qualify for because I have my GED. They're all, 'For highschool graduates.'

And yeah, Full sail is quite expensive- $60,000+ for 2 years for Digital Art & Design...

You need to apply for federal grants and loans at fafsa on the department of educations website. It's free. Federal aid is the best, and the student loans have the best terms and the best interest rates. Private loans are EVIL. High interest rates, high destination fees... think very carefully how much your payments will be after you graduate if you even consider it. (and make sure you can afford them if you drop out of school).

Also, you can still work going to school 35 to 40 hours a week, find something in the evenings or on weekends, and just because you have a GED doesn't mean you can't get scholarships!!

I didn't see any tuition info on the schools fancy smansy website, which to me means extremely expensive and extremely "for profit". Look for and apply for all the financial aid help you can get, your gonna need it.

4 year degree = $120,000 = $1,200 payments
pub school = $24,000 = $240 mo. You are paying for that fancy website, attractive and "ever so helpful" recruiter to get you there. Report It

I cringe every time I hear the words 'Full Sail'.

It is a fancy shmancy private school that only has National Accreditation.

If you are going to spend that much money on an Associates degree why don't you choose a school with Regional Accreditation!?

What Full Sail forgot to mention is that they will have you doing labs at 1 in the morning because they don't have room for everyone.

Do a bit more research before you sit in class!
