Electrical engineering job outlook and salary question? |
which specific area of electrical engineering helps me earn more salary...the categories being..comntrol, asic, embedded, hardware, RF...etc....... for an entry level EE but with a masters degree?.....which state has the highest job opportunity? thanks Florida would be a good place to explore. The economy is always good. There is a company in Orlando , I kind of like, called Saw Technology, and they make TCXO, VCXO oscillators. Good place to get your feet wet. There is a lot of High tech firms in Florida. Masters or not, don't expect top dollar. Your first Job, you would be lucky to get 24K the first year. After that it should get better real quick. A good Engineer with two or three years of test Engineering experience should make between $28,000 to $35,000 per year. You have to earn your stripes first before people will take you serious. Most Engineers have tunnel vision, try to keep panavision in mind. Source(s): 28 years experience, now I own my own R&D and consulting company of (one) person. Low overhead. I am living my dream now, but it took years of experience to get where I am now. Everything you ever wanted to know about the labor market. http://www.bls.gov/ I wouldn't really go for the money. It is probably better to get into a position you want to explore or feel you can improve. What exactly did you major in for your Masters Degree? Don't you have to write a paper in a specific field? Isn't that what peaks your interest? I would say stick with what you are interested in. From there, you can make improvements and better designs. Then the money will really start to flow in. If your just looking for any old job, then pick any one of them and stick with it, instead of flipping around, or you will end up like me. Not really great at anything, but good at everything. |
