Are they many jobs and demand in the world now for chemical engineering? |
i want to be an chemical engineer.. itzit wise that i go for it..? i'm sure the job market looks very promising for chemical engineers, as there are many applications for that major. just be advised that the major is a lot of hard work and intense science classes, including organic chemistry, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, multivariable calculus and other classes of the like. my roommate is a cbe major (chemical biomolecular engineer), and she takes about 5-6 classes a semester, while the average class load is about 4. If you watch the news or perhaps read articles you may be surprise that the reason the states don't have enough jobs for our people is because the states are now sendig alot of their work overseas to other countries because it's cheaper labor, this is reality. so good luck with your career. world news Go for it! Yes, there are lots of jobs available. Among the more obvious places, Dow-Corning, DuPont, And Solutia. Not to mention Union Carbide or even in the profession of teaching! Couldn't do the math... Dyslexic with numbers. My husband has a doctorate in Chemical Engineering, although his focus was more bio-tech. He now has his pick of high-paying jobs. So from my (albeit limited) experience I would have to say yes, there is a demand for (good) chemical engineers! |
