How do you find an EE engineering job with no experience?

Still looking after 5 years from graduation, applied at every company, tried military n failed, worked in civil area didn't work, wanted to return to college no money didn't want STDL didn't work, tried computer science no money to finish degree.

Love computers n programming, reached BSEE level, have ASPHYS and ASGENENGR, kind of a loner, very creative like to experiment-try new ideas, looking for a mentor or companion.

Very frustrated and close to giving up engineering career for labor and construction career.

I'm a recent computer engineering graduate (BS from RIT) and i have plenty of ee friends. 14 months out of college of the dozens of people I've spoken to since, every single one either A: has a full time job. B: is working on a graduate degree. or C: doing both.

If you have an electrical engineering degree and cant get a job working for the military or a defense contractor right now, there's some reason you cant get a job that you are not sharing.

Without knowing what that reason is, I would recommend contacting some of your friends from college who did get jobs five years ago and asking them to give your resume to the right person at their companies. Source(s): I am recently graduted and done job hunting for a while.
Been there... didn't even graduate though.

Started selling computers from my home... offering custom-built computers and networks.

Made more money than any of my friends who graduated and had regular jobs.

That was 15 years ago... I still make more than most of my college buddies.

Use your knowledge as an asset. Make a list of what you know. As an EE grad you know more about the insides of a computer than most ppl out there. I know ppl who have no idea what a clock cycle is and I meet others everyday who couldn't calculate the load on a UPS (they did not know what 1-phase and 3 phase current was). You know a lot more. Use your skills and knowledge as an asset.
There are a few things to do:

1) Reduce your salary expectations. I worked for peanuts to start with. Also reduce your expectations if you are looking for a big title.

2) Write and publish articles. This builds credibility.

3) Participate in organziations like the IEEE (or a local equivalent). Network with others.

4) Ask someone you trust to be brutally honest about why they think you haven't found a job.

5) Look at consulting firms for short term jobs to gain experience.
Dont give up yet...you have proved you are a winner.
Try local contractors for the time being and lie on the CV if necessary...its part of the game.
Keep the CVs flowing to agencies at all costs.
I started at 21 with no degree and headed for overseas....never looked back.
Hope this helps!
If you like electronics, suggest learning microcontroller programming. You can earn good money as a freelancer doing projects or get a good job. You can try PIC or AVR microcontroller programming. All tools are free and downloadable from their respective websites. Today, all products at home and industry have some form of intellegence that helps people use it better. You can create such products using microcontrollers.
