How do i find engineering job? |
i got my degree in engineeing from usa 4 years ago since then i am still looking for my job. I dont know what to do. i submitted my resume on the net, send to others compaines by fax and my mail but nothing.this is my 2nd degree. my first degree was in business. i am very scare of my future.sometime i cry inside of me alot and sometime i ask from God why ?? Oh my. I know how tough it can be. Took me a full year to find a job and I wanted to just cry everyday. Felt like a failure. Try the following: 1. Follow up sending your resume with a visit to the HR department of the company you sent it to. It helps when they know that there is a real person behind your resume. More than anything, try to actually go to the companies you are interested yourself. It takes alot of courage, yes, but it's hard to get a job by just sending out your resume. Trust me, I was there. 2. Get your resume done professionally. It isn't very expensive, but will help your resume stand out from the others. 3. Go to an employment agency. They will help actively look for a job for you. Consider going to more than one. It's like networking without actually doing the work. 4. Network. Do not be ashamed to ask people if they know of any positions you could apply for. Time for feeling ashamed is long gone. 5. Do not give up. What is for you, is for you. Do not question God as to why this is happening. It just is, so now you just have to deal with it. Your time will come. Trust that God has a plan for you and if you keep on working at achieving your goal, you will not regret it. I hope that you get through with everything, because I remember all too well what this feels like. Remember to be patient and take another job in the meantime to just to pay the bills. Maybe you just need a fresh pair of eyes to help with you situation. Career counselors deal with this sort of thing all the time, and not only can they help you with your resumee but they can help you find a job that's the right match for you(see first url for general information about career counselors). By going to the second url and clicking need a career counselor you can search for one in your state. You could also try looking at a wider range of engineering job sites in different locations.
