Do you have any tips for an engineering job interview? Be honest and dont exaggerate your skills. They can pick that up easily. Show enthusiasm by reading up on the job and having questions ready. If there tasks, duties, applications, cads, skills you dont have for the position and dont know about, read up on them and show that you can apply your skills to it easily and quickly. Have a good understanding of the company you will be working for. Dress Professionally, be prompt, and organized. Be yourself. DONT DEMAND TOO MUCH MONEY Just answer the questions, don't ramble. Make eye contact, don't scratch smile don't wear scents or anything that shows what a hot babe you are seem enthusiastic There is no wrong answer. Just be honest. Being pleasant and able to reason about problems is more important than what you already "know". But a good background in your chosen field is important too. Have faith in your training and be nice. If you can't have faith in your training background, go back to school until you can. All of the above suggestions were great. Depending on the type of engineering position, you will have two interviews. The first one will be administrative, asking about your previous experience and salary expectations. Point out the highlights of your previous jobs. Tell them your salary is negotiable (don't give a number). The second interview, scheduled at a later date, will be technical. They will ask specific questions regarding your field of engineering. This will be done by the hiring manager who is knowledgeable about the field, so don't lie. If you don't know, you can learn.
