What kind of questions r asked and how can i prepare myself for a mechanical engineering job acceptance test ? strenght of materials applied mechanics fluid mechanics heat flow machine design instrumentation metalurgy metrology elements of electrical and electronics computer aided drawing, maching and manufacturing language like c,c++,basic, fortran management systems ISO,EMS standards. and many more these are genral questions Preparation = experience and qualifications. Working with engineers is working with a bunch of pervs and old farts! TRUST ???'s = they will ask you why you want the job, some questions about the firm you intend to work for (research = real interest in job), they will ask you where you are planning to go with life and your career. Generally, if they are testing your mechanical engineering aptitude, they will ask basic math and engineering questions. If your position has a specific job description, you might want to study on that material specifically. I interviewed for a job and they showed me this complex bit of model machinery. It was crank operated and had lots of moving parts. I would leave the room and they would "break" the machine, and I would have to inspect it to see what was broke and fix it - I thought that was the coolest entrance test ever! :-) Just study hard!!! i'm a mech student too....eh...usualy now a days,,if ya have good comunication skills you've got lots of oppurtunities to get thru...so go boost up ya communi skills!! I had to take a test for my first job. They sent it to me via email and told me that I only had an hour and I couldn't use any reference materials. Some of it was very basic first year stuff and some was more involved. I was stupid though and only took an hour and didn't use any references and scored marginally (well enough to get hired but not great) I later found that many applicants scored nearly 100% and I wondered about the integrity of the test. But maybe honesty is what they were looking for. |
