Where in America are the best software engineer/programming jobs?

I'm 24 years old and want to change careers. I currently have a B.A. in Speech and Communications, and I will have an M.S. in Computer Science by 2009. I want to relocate to someplace warm - down south or California.

Not necessarily sure about the best, but the most jobs will be in the San Francisco Bay Area. Outside of there, the largest concentration of jobs will be in areas like New York City and Austin (Texas).

Washington DC area. Specifically, northern Virginia. Wide variety of Defense projects,and huge need to organize, sort and categorize . Tremendous cash flow into the goverment funds good jobs. Not too hard to get a project job that will last 90-180 days. Longer projects tend to employ the most senior people.
