Cellphones, TVs, DVDs, computers, satellites, even modern apliances and light switches work with communications. EE and EC are very broad subjects because virtually any electrical device needs to be able to gather, process, and send information to either a user or another electrical device. Therefore, pretty much anything you can think of that uses electricity will include one of those two. Just a forenote, if you're thinking about entering this field...you will need an extremely strong background in math (should take some calculus before leaving highschool) and science (you'll need to understand how these signals work, learn physics and chemistry). salaries are about as follows: $50,000 for a BS in EE (starting income) $70,000 for an MS in EE (starting income) job prospects, as with all things, are extremely competitive. be sure to study well and get good grades (but know the material). me: electrical engineer lign="right" > Sign in to vote! salary, it depends.. better if you're a certified or licensed eng'r job prospects... anything.. we have a wide scope of jobs prospects.. eng'r for research development production sales/management teacher technician technical writer computer programmer service worker inspector.. many more titles for ec eng'r antennas, audio, computer, digital, illumination, IT, magnetics, microwave, motors & generators, packaging, power distribution, radio, semiconductor, TV, and test equipment.. got it from my professor |
