Any advice for a job interview in civil engineering? Wear a red tie. Have a portfolio. Dont discuss building bridges and buildings............interview... generally dont like that . And if possible take a big King burger from McDonald for ur interviewer...............this will show ur eagerness to serve them.........and chances are high of being hired if those people are really hungry.......... hello, make sure your up on all training and new innovations to your Field. make sure you're math is strong. you will most likely be given a competency test. a lot of trig. and take-offs on angles. also, be sure to know you;r abbreviates. a good knowledge of building codes doesn't hurt. e.x.- t.g.- top of grade. BM- benchmark. bl- below grade. things like that. just be sure of yourself and you cant go wrong. good luck. been in the buisness for a long time. be yourself,be secure and show a big interest of work in that company.GOOD LUCK.If that job is for you no matter what happens it will be for you,if that job it's not for you no matter what you do and say it will not be for you and you will find surely a better one.Be calm,nerves are our enemies...... The principal of our company (structural engineering) thoroughly tests every applicant, and has a face to face interview. It's tough. They want you to prove what you know. Even the drafters, like myself, have to prove we know what's up, on top of simple competency in CAD. |
