Can i get a highly paying job after completion of engineering in Biotechnology ,is it a course worth choosing Pharma companies make high profits on their products, but the way of the future is Biotech. There are a lot of risks in the Life Sciences, but I also believe there are also a lot of rewards. Consider carefully who your potential employers might be in the near term if you go with a pure biotech play(Genentech, ICOS, Amgen, etc) as well as the educational requirements for the type of positions that you would like to work in. When I did Biotech classes a LOT of my classmates had doctorates compared to my other MBA classmates. So consider carefully how much time you will be willing to spend in school (don't forget time=$). Also, Biotech companies are not normally as stable as big Pharma, so you may be out of a job or your company may be bought, sold, merged, acquired several times. You may consider the Biotech arm of a more stable Pharma company or take some management and finance courses and try out for Venture Capital companies who are interested in the things that Biotech companies will be able to bring to market . In any event, I wish you luck and don't believe that any engineering degree is a waste, nor is any major if you really love the work that you're doing (can you tell that I was a Biotech major?). Hope that helps. maybe if your working for the Iraqis or Koreans nick sorry! Yeah I make almost 45 dollars an hour at Phillip Morris USA Bioengineering & biomedical Engineering starting salary$48,503/yr for bachelor's $59,667 fo Master's http://stats.bls.gov/oco/ocos027.htm#ear... |
