MS in Chemistry want to apply to MS Chem Engineering in UC System?

hi! I am an international student and recently admitted to a maser of chemistry in TIER 3 schools in usa. I might focus my study on organic synthesis or biochem. Actually I wanted to apply master of chemical engineering but due to my low undergraduate GPA, so I chose to apply master of chemistry.

The question is if I have solid GPA in my master of chemistry after two years( GRE:V550 Q:780 ) do I have chance to admit to master of chemical engineering program in University of California system?

and is it normal to have both master of chemistry and chemical engineering in US? I heard that master of chemistry is not easy to get a job in US, but master of chemical engineering would be much better for international students to have jobs in US? IS IT TRUE? HOW ABOUT MS of Biochemistry?

because I really want to work in US after graduate from graduated skul especially in san jose and silicon valley!

You should contact the admissions office at the university to determine what your options are. You are assuming way too much and not taking the time to actually find out what your options truly are.

Also, you need to take some time to understand work visas. Simply going to a university in the USA it not a guarantee of employment in the USA. When I was in college, there was a foreign national who graduated with the hope of working in the USA. His children were born in the USA and thus citizens, but he still struggled to keep his status legal. In the post 9/11 world, I suspect things may be much harder if you are not a citizen.

I doubt that a master's in chemistry would carry many of the qualifications required to enter a chemical engineering program. The degrees are quite different and chemical engineering has a lot of other disciplines in the curriculum that the chemistry programs do not. (Fluids, Reaction kinetics, Process control, Mass and heat transfer, plus other courses in metallurgy, electrical engineering, etc.)
