How can I advance my chemical engineering career? |
Its been a year since I graduated with my chemical engineering degree. It seems though as if engineering has lost all its glamour and pay. Infact some of the top jobs outside are either in medicine or finances which excellent pay scales. Engineering has become pretty lame in comparision to many of the jobs out there and I wish to inquire what sort of finance education can I have besides pursing an MBA to further my career and into what? I do not have an exceptional performance with my chem engg grades so it would be hard for me to pursue further studies without upgrading and imporving my gpa. Nonethless I wish to be able to get involved in a field that compliments engineering but makes more money and has more challange involved to it (ofcousre R&D work in engineering is nice but for every 10000 people there is once vacancy and they too need a phd.) so along the lines of business what would be a good recommendation to my background in chem engg ofcourse where the moolah is !!! Read these pages, it might give you more ideas: http://www.graduatingengineer.com/future... http://www.unixl.com/dir/maths_and_engin... http://www.career-planning-education.com... http://www1.on.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/ojf/ojf.j... You might need to go back and get another degree to compliment your chem eng degree. I find Careerbuilder & Monster.com pretty good places to look for jobs and that's how I found out I want to get into becoming a business data systems analyst. :) http://careerbuilder.com/jobseeker/jobs/... lign="right" > Sign in to vote! lass="explain-text">Sometimes none of the answers get it just right.
