How hard is Petroleum Engineering?? What r some of the easiest and hardest engineering jobs out there?????? Petroleum Engineering is a form of chemical engineering, which is known to be the toughest of all engineering dsciplines. It varies when in the work force but academically chem eng is the toughest track to walk and complete. structural would probably be the easiest. easy im a senior PETE student at texas A&M. pete has alot of fluid flow and geology in it. The fluid flow is a *****, and their is some basic programming involved. It is best described as mix between mechanical and chemical, witha dash of geology. Electrical engineering is in a field of its own and is easily the hardest one. It is more abstract and has a steeper learning curve than the others. whereas chemical, petroleum, mechanical, ocean, and civil engineers could be used interchangebly or cross trained from one field to the other, an EE must be trained from the ground up. Industrial engr was made to accomodate all the kids who made it halfway thru their phsysics and math requirements and couldn't cut it. One of these guys is more suited for construction science than engineering, and is generally not considered an engineer. Pete is beginning to get flooded, but if you go to a good school you will be hired before you finish your senior year. |
