I've been employed since jan. 2007 and I'm going to Kelly Services Employment Agency is this a good idea?

I know how to do clerical and data entry stuff.

Why wouldn't it be? They'll give you a few tests to determine your ability in those areas then help you find something either temporary or maybe temporary that could lead to full time after a trial period.

Kelly's is a temp service.. if you're employed, why would you leave a perm job for a temp job?..

i work at a company that uses temps a lot and my company almost never hires the temp people permanently.

Kelly is one of the better job placement services. you should be good. Tell them everything you can do and do your best in jobs you get.

I think so u can earn a permanent job through these guys sometimes.. i use to do substitute teaching with this company and i only had to go to work if i wanted to and i was paid weekly.. it was fun until i started a new career.

If you have a permanent job, don't leave it for a temp service. Alot of time you go into those places because of a job they have advertised but when you get there it's gone and they say we will put on our call list if something match's your exp. and then if you have only been on your job 6mths it will be hard to compete with our applicants who may have more exp then you. So I say stay where you are get alittle more exp. under belt then go for it, and have you ever thought about getting a certificate in the Admin field, that will definitely make you more marketable. Good Luck!!!!

No, it isn't a good idea because most of the temp services like Kelly WON'T help people who haven't had a year of solid work experience. Also when the temps are not working, they are suppose to be job searching on their own. So, it is a terrible idea that you have plans on quitting a permnanent position and go to a temp servie. Most of the people tell me that they are misleading ads.The recruiters are nothing but SALES. They post a fake ad making a job seeker think that they are qualified. Once the job seeker sees the ad, he/she goes in and take a bunch of tests. That is the pitch to lure the job seekers into using their services. Nobody ever found a job using temp services.

If you are not happy at your position, continue working at it until you gain more experience. A year would be nice. Once you have been at a company for a year, then start searching on your own while you are still working at your current position until you find your dream position.
