Law Enforcement Employment (re-applying)?


Hello Everyone,


My question stems from an employment rejection from my local law enforcement agency. I was at the investigation stage when they made the decision to end the process due to my sporadic work history. While in college, I took numerous temporary positions that would last 6 months or more so this would inflate my employment history. It has been over a year since applying and I am considering whether to re-apply.

Have you been working for the full year? I would re-apply. I shouldn't hurt you. I'm surprised that as a college student your work history was weighted so heavily in the hiring process.

THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN THE REASONS.
I WOULD RE-APPLY AND ALSO WRITE A LETTER EXPLAINING THINGS . YOU WERE STILL A STUDENT .
APPARENTLY THEY JUST ASSUMED THE WORST .

The hiring process is based on various factors. Try and fill in any gaps in the transition in employment. Finally, disclose every little thing and keep in contact with the Investigator. Best of Luck.

I would recommend that you go to the pd and speak with the person or officer who does background investigations and ask him or her. They may save you a lot of heartache or they may encourage your.... either way, you'll know...
