If courts and the police were private companies, would justice be fairer and faster?

And if Law was only a badly paid State employment, there would be fewer clever lawyers thinking up tricks to jail the innocent or free the guilty?

LOL....jail the innocent....ROFLMFAO

Bureaucracy is not limited to government. We have several private prisons in AZ and they are more badly managed than the state. They also get to pick which level of inmates they get--mostly medium and below. It would probably take longer to go through the court system if it were privatized.

If this were the case, we as the public, would have little to no recourse versus incidents of corruption. Our fines would go through the roof, in order for the private company to have a higher profit.

Think about it ENRON, Walmart, Bestbuy, Circuit City...

These companies are in it to make money so everybody ***

will have a feloney after they privatize the police and courts.

Faster, sure. Fairer, probably not. This is the pay-to-play problem. Oh, and the reason that private companies can do things faster is that they have the resources to hire people when necessary. Can anyone say tax increase needed?

Short answer...no.

Longer answer.....whatever injustice people feel our system of justice commits if our system was privatized that would mean the cop out on the street and the judge on the bench could be bought for a certain price. Can you say Mexico boys and girls. The rich get off....no tickets...no arrest...no trials...paid for jury.....

Our system from time to time stumbles. We have some officers who fail to respect their code of ethics and we have some judges who shouldn't be sitting on the bench...but the majority of our officers are truly public servants wanting to do their job to the best of their ability.

At least as Americans we can ***** and complain about our system and know that we can do so freely and without concern that some night we will have a knock on our door and we are taken away...never to be heard from again.....

not at all.private companies are proving that;s the wrong way to go.if private companies were the way of our society.there would be more people in prison then now are.not to mention the corruption that would take place.far worse then it is now for sure.

We already did have a privatized police and court system - it was called feudalism. Arrests, interrogations, dungeons and executions were very cost-effective, as the local lords and the king ensured that they wouldn't let silly little things like "due process" or "human rights" take up any of their time or money.
