WHAT SHOULD I DO? On Bank Of America employment application, should I list all my previous employment history?

I have to fill out the Bank Of America employment application now to turn in this Monday. On the application, it asked me to list all the employers and dates that I have worked for. It also said "If you do not list all your employment, then the result will send back as unsatisfatory and will not be accept for employment." Of course, I understand that line. However, some peple told me that I do not have to list it all if I dont want to, and they won't even know where I worked before if I didn't list it. What should I do????

The problem I don't want to list them all because I have some employer that I worked for couple months, and it will make me look bad that they saw me jump around isn't it??? Another problem is that there is one employer that I don't remember the date that I worked for, I tried many ways to contact them for the employment date, but they couldn't help me find it. However, BOA told me to get the exact date of employment.

WHAT SHOULD I DO???? Please help!!!

I have a job that required an extensive back ground check for a security clearance. The people who are telling you you don't need to list all your past employers are not looking for a job with B of A. It may look like you jumped around, but you can call that gaining experience. As long as you did not depart any previous employers with items that were not yours (theft), you should have no worries about a back ground check. If your prospective job requires that you handle money or private/personal client information, you will be scrutinized and any gaps will look suspicious. Good luck on your job search.

Generally, you would want to list your employment for the last 10 years. You really don't need to go back any further than that.

9 times out of 10, your prospective employer (in this case, BOA) is only going to check that you were in fact employed by the company in question, and not whether you quit, got fired/laid off, etc. As far as getting the exact employment date, I would just estimate and I don't think they're going to reject you for being a few days off. If you were ever fired from a job and it somehow does come up when they're getting ready to hire you, you can just say that you had a problem with your boss or co-workers, but I wouldn't expect a question like that to come up. In summation, if I were you I would list every past job you've had if I were in your shoes.
