Plss any1 kindly check my spelling, use of English and grammar to the following employment application answer?

i am trying to write an excellent employment application answer about myself and my experiences for big4 accounting firms, but my english is not too good.
I have already checked from Ms Word.
Some of the words I used or described may not make sense, and absence of strong words you can re-phrase the sentences or use the right wording.
Hopefully it can makes sense with the right word, grammar and spelling.

Early this year I involved in organizing events in the CBD area with five of my friends. My role involves promotions, sales meetings, managing my team and participating in the weekly event.
I enjoy working in teams and able to meet new friends. When we put on a good show, the sense of achievement that we share as a team is tremendous. I also get to display my abilities as a leader. The event management club runs successfully under my management.
I am proud of this achievement because I first started this activity 2 years ago as a volunteer promoter. After 6 months, an organizer recognized my excellent performance which then promoted me as a manager for managing the night club event.
After 3 months of management,

The competition was to determine which 2 managers achieved the top performance. They were to be promoted as organizers, and rewarded with a 5% share of the organization. I achieved first place in the competition.

Here's a few suggestions...
1.) "I involved" should be "I became involved" or "I was involved"
2.) "Able to meet" should be "I was able to meet" or "I enjoyed the opportunity to meet"
3.) "that promoted" should be "who promoted"
4.) "I won the first" should be "I won first"
5.) "Organizer's runs" should be "organizers run" (if there's more than one organizer)or "organizer runs"(If there's one organizer)
