A former company that I worked for... the company shut down and my boss retired. My former boss said I can use her home phone number for my job applications on previous employment but the options are Laid off. It says to the prospective employee that it wasn't your fault the job ended. Termination and Quiting looks BAD on applications. Also explain the circumstances of your lay off. You could write "company closed" in the margin. It's always best to try to be as truthful and as accurate as possible. I think I'd write in that company shut down. That's the truth. The other options could work against you. |
