If I were terminated from my current job, should I list it in employment application for new job?

DO THEY KNOW IF I DON'T LIST MY CURRENT EMPLOYER IN AN APPLICATION FOR THE NEW JOB? OR WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It depends on how long you worked there. If it was for a number of months to several years, a potential employer is going to wonder about the gap in your employment if you don't list the job. Better play it safe and list it. If you make the final cut on a new hire then you can concern yourself about how to handle the touchy situation.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but I think the labor laws only permit a former employer to acknowledge that a person worked there between this date and that date. I don't think it's permissible to ask for, or relay the reasons for your departure.

If it is a government job they will check. You could lie and say you are still working at your last job and you don't want them to know you are looking - that way they won't contact anyone.
