When filling out an application for a job, what do u put down for times when u didnt work/ employment gaps? |
i been looking for a job but my work history the last 2-3 yrs has been horrible, and it seems to keep me from gettin a job these days. i used to be able to get most jobs i applied for. what would be a good way around that? Chances are it is not the gaps that are hindering you from getting a job but the reason for the gaps or the lack of explination. Most interviewers will ask about any gaps on a persons resume and we often get answers like, I went back to school, I was taking care of an elderly parent or I was doing various temp jobs. If you do get the interview and the question arises answer honestly about the missing time and what you were doing. On an application you usually don't fill up all of the areas for previous employers so if you wanted to you could put in a one liner that says will explain employment gaps during interview. This lets the interviewer know that you are not trying to hide anything from them. |
