How long does Conn's take to review potential Employment Applications?

The Conn's Corporate Office in Beaumont has had the NOW HIRING signt for months. I applied both in person and on-line and it's been over a week since. I still haven't had a response. I know I qualify, moreover, I know people who work there and have drug addictions!
So how long till I get a response?
Thank you!

The larger the company, the longer it may take for them to get back to you. Just because you are anxious and in a hurry does not mean that they are in one.

They have to be sure that they keep the slot open for a prescribed amount of time. Hiring the 1st guy off the street is not only a bad business decision, but the NAACP can get mad if they are not allowed to have time to apply either (I am not trying to sound racist here, but the fact this happens is a fact of business).

Generally, if they have not contacted you after about 5-10 business days (after all, the personnel manager could be on vacation, in a conference, or doing other things than worrying about hiring a vacant slot), then call them and be sure that they received your package.

When I was in charge of filling positions for vacancies in my department, we would take resume's for about 3 weeks, then start to review them, then screen out the top two or three for interviews.

After interviews, we would then let them sweat for another couple of weeks before calling them back in. This was a test to see how bad they really wanted the position before making them an offer.
