Had a most unusual experience at the employment agency yesterday?

Went to register for work at this 'dump-of-an-agency' (really shabby) for office work. I noticed on the recruiters' business card that he does neuro-linguistic programming. Anyway, I went along yesterday and he asked me what type of person I was, whether I was standoffish or friendly. I said I was friendly, but I don't 'take the fence down' with people. He then said, "You're the type of person one will never truly get to know". What has this got to do with work? He also asked if I was different outside the workplace as I was inside the workplace. What do you think?

If an NLP person likes you, you can tell. They will mimic your movements since that is supposed to make you like them. He is trying out his NLP on you.

weirdo recruiter
:S

HE IS INTERSTED IN YOU.

i think he's trying to get into your pants

You weren't friendly enough. If you really need a job, learn to read people. It is pretty easy to figure out what people want to hear and see if you pay attention. You don't have to pretend, just learn to sell yourself and market the qualities that people love and respect you for.

i think he should take his own inventory

Probably not the best way to interview applicants. He was just testing you to see what kind of enviroment you will be best suited for. Will you be the sweet person who follows the rules and do a good job or are you somewhat of a loud mouth that likes to push peoples buttons?
Trust me, most people are different outside of work. You have to eat a lot of sh*t from others when you need to make a paycheck. :-)

Go with your gut feeling. You will know if the job is suited for you. Remember on interviews look the interviewer in the eyes, smile, dress professionally and tell them what they want to hear. You have to toot your own horn and tell them you will give them 100% everyday, you are dependable and will be a great asset to the company. They like hearing all that stuff :-)

DID YOU RUN?

That is not professional behavior. I would not trust an employment agency that had shabby offices ("How does this reflect on you" is what you need to ask yourself). The recruiter obviously had hidden agendas. Fortunately, you seem to have good boundaries - don't become a victim when you sense something is wrong.

In California there has been a series of sex crimes committed by people who were preying on victims who responded to ads for jobs.

"Poopsy"--do you realize that you've wasted 20 to 25 points asking this very same question at least 4 to 5 times in a row? SHARON
