I have been refused an interview for a job for which i meet all criteria can i complain to agency .? |
T his job is advertised by local employment agency and is still The simple answer is yes, you can complain to the company. Will this do you any good? Possibly. The question is, did the company do something wrong (PROVABLE illegal action) when they refused your application. Chances are you just didn't meet all the criteria even though you think you did. For all you know, there were 100 applicants with better backgrounds than you had. The reason it is still open is because they are still interviewing and certainly if someone came along that had even better credentials than the 100 they chose then that person will probably get pushed forward as well. Meeting criteria is not the same as being a top candidate for a job. If you truly think you were discriminated against in some way then you should definitely complain and possibly seek some sort of legal representation to make sure they don't keep discriminating against people of your race, sex, physical handicap, creed, etc, etc, etc. You don;t have a right to an interview. When I advertise a position, I get a bunch of CVs. I then go through them and reject some that fit the job description for other reasons including high turnover of jobs, gaps in employment etc If your a d*rky it`s racism. Go to the agency and ask why you have been refused. Go in prepared with all the evidence of why you think you should be put forward. No you cant complain to the agency you may think you met all the criteria but the agency obviously dont think you are the right sort of person for the job, that is their job they know what they are doing so i think maybe you should just try for another job, everybody has their own individual qualities.! x I doubt that you have been refused, most likely not selected. if you have been refused then there must be a reason? what was the reason? Not really, what you could do is ask the agency why in there opinion you were not offered an interview as a way of improving your potential. Just think how many people apply for just one job. It is practically impossible to interview everyone, the potential employer selects probably just 3 or 4 of what they consider the most suitable. Don't be despondent, when one door closes, another opens. Could also be that it is a large company which is obliged to place vacancies with the Job Centre but in reality have to offer the job inhouse and it has probably gone before it reaches the Job Centre. The reason you have been refused may be because the vacancy doesn't in fact exist. See if you can find out the truth. (You'll have to be quite cute as the agency won't admit to cooking it up). |
