Quick question about recruitment agencies? |
If an employment agency you have registered with finds you permanent and full time work, how does the agency get paid for it? who pays them - is it the client organisation they work for who pay the agency or does it come out of the client staff individual's salary? Typically an agency will get paid a percentage of your hourly for X period of time. If you are being paid a salary the employer will pay the firm a % of your annual salary after you have been with the company X number of months. It all depends on their contract with the employer. You should never be required to pay them. In the UK, and if it's a reputable agency, the client organisation you've gone to work for should pay the agency a "finder's fee". If it comes out of your salary - change your agent (or your new employer). the company who you join will have agreed to pay a percentage of your annual salary - this does not come out of your salary, just in addition to! They charge the employer, as you are employed by the agency and not the employer, in most cases. They take most of the money and then they pay you peanuts. |
