If a boss screams at his employees, has he crossed the line? Is it wrong to politely ask him not to?

I see lots of articles, etc. online about how to deal with an unreasonable boss; most seem to take the position that in the end the employee is in the wrong if she / he can't get along with the boss.
My boss blames employees for his own mistakes. When he does this, he often screams at them. He witholds information as well and then gets angry at them for not knowing things that he never told them. The employee turnover rate is extremely high
most people don't last a full year or even a full month. The girl in my position before me left after only 10 days. In my opinion, no one deserves to be screamed or sworn at and humiliated. I work past midnight and on my weekends and don't receive any compensation. The last time he screamed I sent a polite but firm email saying that I don't deserve this treatment and I was told that my "attitude" was against the company rules, when I refused to admit that he was right (I have email proof that the fault was his) I was suspended. Am I wrong?

No, you were not wrong but you could have done something different. You should have fired them before they suspended you. This is what I always say to people who work for a bad boss.

Analyze and evaluate the situation. Be honest with yourself. Are you working below par or is your boss unfair? If he is the latter, there is no reason why you should continue working for that business. Fire him, you are just wasting your time.

A good boss will always try to develop good people without being rude and dictatorial. Conversely, if you don't have the potential a good boss will terminate your services.

Peace and every blessing!

Nope - walk away from this company

No, you are not wrong.

Learn one thing. 100's of former employees could not change this guy, and neither are you. Unless this is the only job in your town... LEAVE NOW.

This guy treats people like cattle, because he's on a major power trip that you are NOT gonna derail.

You are also working w/out being paid. Why do you do this? To be yelled at some more?

Leave, and don't look back.

Speaking of articles that deals with this I have placed one in the source box for you. It is number 1 on Google and Yahoo at the moment and one I have often referred to. I would seek a legal opinion in your case as it seems you have been terribly wronged.

This is the year 2007 not 1950. This is an outdated management style that is no longer acceptable in most businesses. If this company is owned by someone other than your boss bring the proof of the situation to his/her attention as well as pointing out the high turnover rate. This kind of behavior costs companies money and can be a safety hazzard. If you get no satisfaction or if he is the owner I would advise seeking legal help and sue him for wrongful dissmissal. No one should have to work under those conditions. People like him should not be in positions of power, he obviously has zero people or managerial skills. And you might have to find a new job, no paycheck is worth the stress and abuse.

You were not wrong to call him on this, if there are bosses above him take it to the next level, but if this guy is THE boss, then quit and don't look back. I get the feeling he is the only boss, because if I had a turnover rate that high I would be fired.

Dont ask him to do any thing politely Just join the que of self respecting people leaving the job all the others that stay have low ego states , they would ofcourse say that they are showing they are strong by staying ( yeh)!!!!
Plus they probably got themselves up to thier ( Shitty ) little ears in debt because they have to have tjings to cheer them selves up because of the atmosphere in the job

JUST LEAVE !!!
