My boss gave information about my pay for a month regarding a mileage expense report to an ex employee? |
The ex employee happens to be my next door neighbor and my old boss. My current boss also stated his plans to keep me in the city to keep me from pocketing to much money. I dont think my pay for any month is anyones bussiness especially someone who does not work for the company. My neighbor states his old boss/ my new boss stated this during a cell phone conversation. Find a new job, with a boss like that, he might accuse you of something more severe in the future. This is a breech of the personal privacy act, you need to discuss this with a lawyer and you can file a police report for identity theft if the information identified you. It depends on the context of the conversation . . . It's common practice for managers to leave contact information so the new manager can call and ask questions . . . Privacy Act of 1974, specifically states that you can't give information about an employees wages. Third parties can be given PA information only when it is needed for business related needs... |
