Types of Employee benefits and Services 1.Economic or Financial Benefits These are intended to provide financial assistance to the employees and their families, especially in times of sickness, accidents, old age, and unemployment. Examples are Christmas bonus, insurance, retirement and pension plans. 2.Recreational, Social, and Athletic Services It aims to provide employees with opportunities for the fruitful use of their leisure hours. The types of recreational or social activity which a firm may adopt depend on the following: a)The community or area in which the company is located. b)The nature of the work being done and the type of employees who do it. c)The financial position of the company. 3.Professional services This is done by the professional staff because employees generally cannot afford to pay for these services outside. a)Counseling service 鈥揟o help the employee adjust himself to the challenges of changing conditions in their living and working environment. Before establishing a counseling service, management should consider the following: 鈥he need for such a service. 鈥he expenses involved, if the company can afford it. 鈥he availability of a competent counselor. 鈥he ability of the personnel management to handle such a job. b)Legal advice It involves advice of a general nature on such matters as leases, debts, wills, tax returns and the drawing up of legal papers. c)Education and self- development -Some companies provide training and educational assistance in order to prepare their workers for higher jobs and responsibilities. 4.Services for Employee鈥檚 family Welfare and Convenience Some companies provide certain services for the welfare and convenience of the families of their employees, such as health and medical services, commissary, housing. according to my HR lec taught me, he said there are so many benefits at different countries, so you must tell me what's your nationality Profits. |
