What are the regulations regarding employees benefits while on military leave?

The only thing your employer is required to do if you go on military leave is to return you to employment at the same or equal position. They can hire someone to replace you, but when you return, they cannot demote you for being gone. Any other benefits beyond this are voluntary.
dependes on your company some give you unpaid military leave
and some give you paid military you have to ask your HR department
when i was in the military i went on medical leave and they stayed the same. GI means government issue. so unless you're completly out of the military they can't take anything away from you.
depends on who you work for. the only thing they have to do is give you your job back when you come home. Most will let you keep your health insurance if you pay all of it out of pocket. If when deployed the company gets rid of your job they have to re-train you and give you another job at the same company but can move you another office or state. you would have to contact your human resources office they will have all the info
it really depends on the type of leave you are on.... my husband just took a tdy leave and a comp leave when we had our son and he got paid just like he normally would..... i know our health benefits were still active too...... what kind of benefits are you talking about too?
lies, lies, lies, they do not need to hold your job for you when you leave.

its the some Servicemen's Act or something but it only states that they need to provide you with an equivalent job for you when you return from 180 days or something. what that means is you can have the same/similiar title or seniority when you return, but doesnt have to be at the same place. someone told me about a sgt in his plt from Louisana when they got, they were like we got a job for you in Mississippi at a different place, and because there is a lower cost of living the pay was a lot lower too. same title, but different pay and place. they can even technically say sorry but the whole department you were for has been sold/axed, and remained something else and they wouldnt have to hire you.

talk to your employer before you leave and have someone from the JAG or rear-detachment with rank call them up and explain to them what is "expected" of them if you are unsure
Federal regulations don't require employers to continue health benefits while you are on military leave. They only require employers to have a job for you when you come back. If you want to continue your civilian health plan you'll probably have to pay for COBRA which can be VERY expensive. Your family will be covered either by Tri-Care or Tri-Care remote if that's what you are concerned about. With Tri-Care your family would have to go to the nearest military base, but with remote you can go to your own family doctor if s/he is on the list of authorized providers.
