Take it or Leave it? Is there any law stating if employers can force their employee to take company benefit??

Could employer of a privately owned company force their employees to take their company benefits?? Even when you are 100% fully covered by your spouse's plan?? Is there any regulations or legal way to deal with this issue in Alberta, Canada??
They force you to fill up the form and sign by telling you either you take the benefit or quit the job!
What would you do??

Wow! That's pretty unusual. Down here in the U.S., signing up for benefits is strictly optional, but you do have to sign off on a form stating that you are fully aware that you are not accepting company benefits. I can't imagine that the law would be so different in Canada. What kind of benefits are you referring to, anyway? Maybe that's the difference (although I can't imagine why).
