What jobs can you get that pays more than minimum wage with just a highschool education?? |
a strip club? Construction, plumbing, electrician, various trades. UPS Pizza delivery, waiter/waitress. Computer repair, setup, maintenance, software help. Sales jobs in most any field: security, cosmetics, advertising, whatever. Of course, most of these aren't guaranteed wages, but work is paid on commission, but a good salesman can make a good living. Of course, none of these (except maybe sales, if you're really good at it) are gonna make you wealthy, but at least its more than minimum wage. construction, get into an apprenticeship (paid learning) for a local trade union. most workers get paid 25-45 per hour full benefits and plenty of benefits. Go to Iraq they need people there , and the pay is much better than min. wage. Well besides that, you can get a job with the city department, a construction job, an oilfield job, and lots of other jobs but you go out and have to look for them. ALso look in the paper, internet and anyplce you can think of. But if you can cook you can find a job as a cook almost anywhere. Factory jobs. Oh wait-they outsourced all of those. Including mine. Sorry. City, County, State, Federal jobs all pay well. With just a HS diploma. Airline Pilot, Train Conductor, Truck Driver, Large vessel operator, deckhand, Heavy Equipment Operator, Plumber, Electrician, Construction, Computers, forklift operator, sales, maintenance, contractor, electronics, etc. All these fields pay higher than minimum wage they may require some sort of trade school but usually nothing higher than a HS Diploma. |
