Please help me to decide between job or higher education ? |
Hi, I have a really tricky situation. I am working in an IT firm. Basically i dont like this job basically because of my team members. During my course of working in the firm, i meet with an accident and had my leg operated. After 5 months of recovery, i rejoined in another team in the same company. But now it seems my leg has not fully recovered. My family members are saying quit the job and cure your leg first. Then you pursue higher education and get another good job also. I am loving this team even though i still dont like the job. Can anybody trully help me with this. Shall i quit and pursue higher education or shall i continue in the job not caring much abt my leg. Hi Karthik, Most of the problems are caused by the mind (because we never watch it). Like Bernard Shaw said, there are only two problems in life, one wanting something and the second getting it. You have also not mentioned the financial status, (can you and your family comfortably miss the salary you bring in). Make a note for and against quiting you job, keep it at a place where you see it often, keep reading it and updating it for a week. Spend one hour afterwards (a week of updating) pondering on all points, and YOU take the final decision, (and do not go back to the problem after that) Hope you are able to do this, and resolve YOUR problem Education is an investment in your future. If you can afford it, you should get your degree. You cannot neglect the leg. So get that fix. Even if you have to quit the job, you have family support so take advantage of it. Rest is up to you. Can't you take some courses, work, and care for yourself? Why do you need to quit a job to 'cure your leg", I guess we don't have enough info from your question to know. Are there some accomodations your employer can adopt to make your work life easier? If you have a team you enjoy working with thats ideal- so many people don't. You have not stated what kind of duty hours You are required to keep at work I am sure they must be rather strenuous so I think you should quit the job, give time for your leg te heal at the same time go for higher education which in the long run would be more beneficial to your future. Its so simple, quit the job, let your leg be fully recovered, continue your higher studies.Its very sure that you will get another job & a good team better than this. Gud luck. Continuing education along with the job is more acceptable. Tomorrow will not be the same as today. Getting a job will be another tricky situation. |
