Can a Nigerian with a Bachelors in education find a job in the U.S?I've worked 13yrs in Nigeria.Change needed. |
I've always worked as a high school teacher you will need to get a visa with work authorization. then when you get here, you will need to take and pass various exams depending on the Field you wish to teach. even with your experience, you will be lucky to get in under the entry level-depending on how good you do on the exams. since your experience is based and acquired in another continent, it really wont apply to the school system in place here. i suggest you try to earn a masters and that will help you tremendously. good luck. Find anything you want. you can find lots of job's. You could also join the military as an officer and get your citizenship if you dont have one. its just an idea. yes, i am pretty sure your bachelors degree will be equivalent to a bachelors degree in the states but it has to be translated.....you should decide where you want to move to and call the schools in that area to see what your options are...I'm pretty sure the school will be able to tell you if your degree will work for that school are not...once you find out you will have to work on getting your visa.....and setting up a living situation over here.....good luck and remember try and pick a place that is in desperate need of teachers...good luck..... my dad is a college professor who teaches esl to all limited english speaking people and also advises students from latin american countries.. Yes as long as you know the english language. |
